EGR Question

I noticed that my car has a plug for an EGR and it's non-cali. I've been having problems passing emissions and would like to put one during testing, then remove it. I was wondering if there is a place for and EGR on a non-cali vehicle (besides the plug).

EGR won't help you pass emissions. The key to emissions testing is lowering hydrocarbons, which are reduced by the air pump and catalytic converter. The EGR valve is just for NOx.

The Cali EGR valves just have a sensor - when the ECU tells the EGR solenoid to engage, the sensor feeds back to the ECU "yes, the EGR valve moved". That's it.

Do a search for passing emissions - you're not the first person in this boat.
