EGI Fuse questions

Welp I got the lucky gremlin that eats EGI fuses.

I've been checking all the wires and going through all the steps and right now I'm at the air pump relay.

I removed all of the emissions and the air pump a while back.
I took the relay out and tried to check it with a battery and it wouldn't click.
I checked the EGI fuse this way and it was fine.

Would a bad Air Pump relay cause the fuse to blow? Maybe it's stuck open?
Since I removed the airpump, can I remove the relay, or is another system tied into this?

Thanks.

So I found a nicked wire by the spark plugs. I don't think this is the source because from what I can tell on the wiring diagrams, these wires are not on the same circuit as the EGI fuse.

So it looks like that wire above is not on the 30 AMP EGI circuit.

Checked over some more wires, still not finding anything.

I took out the air pump relay, put a new EGI fuse in, turned to ACC and it didn't blow.
So I put the relay back in, turned the key, and it didn't blow.
Was really hoping that was it.

So it looks like it's a wire somewhere, that I have moved at some point, but it is no longer grounding out.

Perhaps time for a new wiring harness...but then might as well get a single turbo harness...dammit.

You can remove the air pump relay with no ill effects.

If you removed the air pump have you checked its electrical connector (for magnetic clutch) to make sure it isn't shorting somewhere?
