I got the y-pipe years ago when it first came available - great even if it doesn't add 1 HP. After having cracked my nth plastic pipe, first 2 replaced under warranty ... decided its not cheap as an expendable item and too many autocrosses spent between runs wrapping the thing in racer tape to seal it up.

WTF??!!!??? Leaking oil? You have a more serious problem than a bad cross-over pipe gasket.

The y-pipe gasket is the same as the stock gasket. Any Mazda dealer can get you one.

I think he's talking about the gasket between the 'y' section and the cross-over pipe, right? I wouldn't know where to get it except calling up Ray @ malloy and seeing if he knows.

The IC pipes are smoother and should flow better along with the Efini y-pipe. The crossover pipe is larger than the stock plastic pipe in part because it does not have that cheesy mounting flange that intrudes on the cross section on the stock plastic pipe. The BOV nipple looks to be of a better design also, I'm sure someone mentioned that already
Jeff hit the HP claim here; mazda claims a 10 Hp increase for the '96 FD of which the y-pipe was one of the changes. The pipe is more reliable (doesn't spilt like the stock plastic pipe) bolts up, cleaner internal flow, etc, etc.
