Effects of FC thermoswitch?

What happens to the fan low speed after you've installed the FC switch?

It's my understanding that the ecu is supposed to turn the fans on low at 221F but the FC switch has them already running on medium speed around 203F. Does the new switch simply ignore the low fan speed signal at 221F and keep them on medium until temps are below 203F again??

I forget the exact numbers, but the basic idea is that it turns on the fans at a lower temp.

You may want to read up on how the fans work. The FC switch does nothing but turn them on at a lower temp. If you have the fan switch mod done you'll be able to check your low speed fan when you turn the fan switch off after 10 seconds. In other words whith the fan switch on and the ignition off the fans run at medium, after 10 seconds or so and you turn the switch to off the fans should drop to low speed and run there the duration of the timer (10min.) till they shut off. If they don't act in that fashion then you need to troubleshoot the relays or thermal sensor.

Maybe I can simplify my question:

People running the FC/miata thermoswitch, do you still get the low fans coming on while driving (without AC on obviously), or do you simply get medium speed at 203F when the thermoswitch trips?
