ECU piggy-back or upgrade fuel pump?

Ok, so I've decided to replace the motor and keep the car. I'm told to help safe-guard against blowing the thing again, I can go with EITHER an ECU piggyback chip, OR an upgraded fuel pump.

Anyone think one would be better than the other?

My mods are listed in my Sig....the only change will be going non-sequential, a high-flow cat, and possibly an N1 cat-back as well.

with the mods listed below it doesnt seem like you need ur ECU upgraded. The shop I have my engine being done at told me, the stock pump just flat out stinks. So maybe you can just get one of those if at all.

How did you blow the motor? If it was O-rings or something else cooling related, spend your money on a radiator, and other related stuff.

the rear seal went under WOT. It may have been caused by any number of things, though. My main cat was melted, when I had the DP installed, the pre-cat was shot, too; I think I have a leaky injector, which I suppose could have caused me to run lean...

I'm covering all the bases during the rebuild process. I don't believe it was an overheating problem, though. For some stupid reason I didn't check the coolant level after it went...<smack>. I'm going down to the shop Tuesday to check it out. It's been there a month and I'm getting really paranoid. I'm having it towed back to my parent's garage Wed.

Yea I was thinking the same thing. There's no harm done in doing the fuel pump since liek someone noted, it just flat out stinks. But the ecu is your call. Does anybody know if you have a T04s single if you need an ecu upgrade at all? Mine is still running on stock (how I purchased it) and is getting the fuel pump upgrade in a few days.
