ECU help please!

Hi,

My FD has a panspeed ECU installed in it. and it's designed for japanese petrol (101 octane) compared to the 97 octane we get over here.

I've been advised to change to an Apexi Power FC, unfortunately with my recent engine rebuild i can't actually afford one at the moment (between £450-£550)

Am considering sticking a stock ECU in there till I get the money together, was just wondering how much it's gonna affect the car? she's pretty quick at the moment (don't ask for figures or anything cos i don't have any =Þ)

i'm guessing i'll have to take the boost controller off as well.

any info would be real helpful, head is close to exploding trying to decide what to do.

also how much does a pfc cost stateside?

Your car should be fine with a stock ecu as long as you keep the boost to a maximum of 10 psi.

your pfc will cost you about the same new in the US,but you may find a used one in the 300 pounds range plus shipping.you could also try adding octane booster to your fuel.
