MB ECU board swap

So last fall I fried my pettit unlimited ecu(by being stupid), but I suspected the board with memory chips was still ok. The only way to find out would be to use them on another board. I was not comfortable to remove the individual chips with the hardware I had, so I removed the entire board by removing the solder on the ribbons, then I re-soldered the pettit memory board(off a US ecu) on to a spare JDM ECU that I had. I was unsure if this would work due to the slight difference in the designs. The end result is a happily running car with no error codes. I still need to take it on the road but that won't happen until closer to spring. The worst case would be I still need buy another ecu, but I get the feeling I saved a few hundred bucks by doing this. I also learned a great deal as this was my very first circuit board soldering job. The pictures are of the memory board removed form the JDM ecu, the other is the fried non memory board, and also the tools i used for the job. The completed working ecu is in the car so i have no pictures of it. Please feel free to leave comments or your experiences, or what you think of what ive done.
