I don't know what happended here, I got an error posting. Dammit! Now I have to type my whole question again :-)

It appears that my engine check light does not work. Can someone tell me which light it is and if it should go on each time I turn the car on?

Thanks

One other question, if I bridge the GND and TEN pins, even if there are no error codes, should the engine check light come on at all.

Thanks again!

Come on guys/gals, this question is really easy! Someone please answer!

I presume the light is on the right because I can see all those on the left. 2 lights don't come on when the car is started so it must be one of those. (BTW, I'm RHD here if that makes a difference)

I believe the light should be in the section closest to the door but on the INSIDE of the small output cluster. So for you, it should be on the far right light cluster, but it's the light closest to the gauges (to the left of the air bag light).

Mahjik,

Thank for the reply! :-) Can you tell me if during the startup of your car if the engine check light comes on at all? I mean, should it show on a car that is running correctly like the airbag light etc?

I can't tell you for sure (my wife will kill me if I fire the car up now), but I do believe the check engine light comes on just before you fire the ignition.

If no one pipes up tonight, I'll let you know for sure in the morning.
