Curious as to which is easier?
Most shops leave the tranny in the car and mount the engine separately. But I see Mr. Stock and Damon doing the engine-tranny as a single unit.

Pomanferrari. I can't comment on which is easier, since I have only done it one way myself...I installed the engine and tranny as one piece. My guess is, this is easier because it will be much easier to line up the tranny to the e-shaft while the engine is out of the car. The drawback to this is that you have to install the engine mounts after the engine/tranny is lowered into the engine bay. Mr. Stock complained of having to remove the UIM to get the mounts to line up...I assume that this is because he tried to install the engine/tranny/mounts all at once? I don't know for sure, but for me, the engine/tranny combo went in pretty easily...even doing the job by myself.
