My brand new Mazda genuine dust cap won't fit in my brand-new Mazda wheel hub... why?

Freezing the cap made the difference, although that was *after* sanding it, and it still took a hammer to get it in.

Think it's the original mold?
Possibly worn out, and oversized vs. original spec.

Excessive flash you sanded off perhaps?
