dumb radiator question

will replacing my stock radiator with a larger/more efficient one reduce the effects of heat soak? my normal driving temps are just fine, it only gets hot when the car is shut down....

Once you shut down the car, the heat soak will remain the same as with a stock radiator since the coolant is no longer moving through the engine.
Will the radiator be hotter, longer after shutting down? Perhaps, since there will be more coolant, but it's arbitrary.

I disagree with that statement. The larger radiator is keeping your engine temp lower during normal driving or racing so I would say that you could reach the same underhood temps as with the stock rad when you are not moving, but it would take longer to get there.

True, but I am assuming that the car is at normal operating temperature when shutting the car off. Who cares how big the radiator is if the coolant is 200 degrees in the block and not moving when you shut down?

no and yes. I think that with a larger radiator you'll have more coolant but, it would not do any good if your not moving.
