Driving without dash installed?

While my 7 runs like a champ , and looks like a million bucks from the outside , the interior is in pretty rough shape. I have been working on stripping the entire interior out , and finally finished this eveing by removing the dash.

I am going to be refinishing all interior peices , and installing sound dampening over the winter.

The reason I ask this question is because my car will soon be going to a friends for storage over the winter ( New York ) , and I wanted to take it over to his place sometime next week , but chances are I wont even be close to having enough free time to finish the dash and what not in such a small time frame. His house is literally about a mile away from where I live , and im pretty sure that will be the last drive of the season for my FD until spring.

So am I asking for trouble driving without all of the dash components hooked up , or will it be the same as usual , sans instrument cluster , HVAC control , Radio etc? Thanks in advance for any help on this!

How do you plan on keeping the steering column up and in place? Otherwise I wouldn't advice it, you should be able to move it around this way.

Well after my initial celebration on removing the dash , I read your post lol. I honestlly didn't think of the steering column bolts , while I imagine you could drive the car without the steering column mounted , there is just too much play , and possible risk driving the car without that being bolted up.

Looks like I will have to pull some late nights , and bust my *** to get the dash done in the next few nights. Thanks for the input man!
