So I am getting closer and closer to picking up my first RX7. The only issue here is that the car is about 1100 miles away. My plan is to go pick it up and drive it home. I have done this numerous times in the past without issue , but I just wanted to make sure there wasn't anything to be cautious of since this is my first rotary.

I was planning on doing 600 - 900 miles the first day and the remainder afterwards.
I took a trip to Texas last year with my VW and the car was litterally running non stop for close to 16+ HRS without ever shutting it off. Should this be an issue running the RX7 for long periods of time at highway speeds? Is there anything I should periodically check or keep my eye on?
