Driving with Power Steering belt off

Hi all,

Will driving with my power steering belt off damage anything?

I'm waiting on a pulley to arrive, and in the meantime would like to drive my RX7 around. I have power steering pump inplace with fluid in it and the plug is connected, just no belt to drive the pulley, I'm worried that if I were to drive around this was something will get damaged.

You won't hurt anything but you'll have MAJOR steering effort since your arms will be pumping the fluid.

I wouldn't drive farther than around the block. It could be unsafe without the power steering pump running. But the car will be fine.
