Hi all, Ive got an issue with the drivers door lock, it will lock fine with a key, but if I try to lock it with the alarm or lock it from inside, the lock will bounce and will not let me lock at all. and its really really tight when I try to lock it, then once it reaches where it should lock, it locks then straight away it will open again. so its bouncing due to the lock being stiff. Ive had the door skin off, and the lock mechanism looks fine, it just wont stay in the'lock' position. hence why it keeps bouncing. tried wd40 etc in to latches etc etc but its just the mechanism that is being stretched. could it be the inside locking lever be stuffed? there isnt much that could go wrong there I would have thought ?

Fixed this this morning, got fed up with locking with a key every time I have to lock the car looking like dont even have an alarm in my car.

It was the rod in the door latch being too long, hence keeps on bouncing. I took the exterior door handle off, then experimented, and if I pull the handle away from its mounting points, slightly pulling on the cable, it would function normally.

so I bent the rod slightly so it becomes ever so slightly shorter, then put it back together and WA LA it was working perfectly.

Anyone with the same problem try to take the door handle off and move it to a certain place then try the mechanism and play around with it.

over such a small thing, Im a happy man today lol
