I think a better question is, who *doesn't* have an FD that has that problem? Noticed that too when I first got mine. That's got to be another idiosyncrasy of the car, along with the rattles and squeaks, and hard to open hatch, etc. I just got used to slamming it shut.

"Hard to shut" how? An FD with decent door seals will require some momentum & force to close due to the air-tight cabin. That goes for both doors and the hatch.

If the latches aren't aligning, then that's another problem.

See if the drivers door closes the same with the window open (to release pressure). It may just be a seal problem.

Actually, it could be just the latches, or a door geometry problem. I haven't aligned the latches on an FD, so I'll leave that to someone else. Was the car ever in a wreck? Does the door look crooked when closed? Is there difficulty opening it?

the door close better with the window down. However, the passenger door closes easier than the driver's door with all windows up still

check the weather stripping on the door frame. mine will move sometime from putting my hand on it getting in or out and the door will be hard to shut. does it not swing as freely as the pass.? or just not latch as easily?
