Hmm, I just looked it up and it has 4 inch piping so I guess it would flow the most. Its probably more than I want to spend on an exhaust. Lets say in the $600.00 or less range.

any ideas?

You ever look at the internal diameter of the apexi duals? They're SMALL. I'm talking about the part of the muffler that bolts up to the midpipe. I think it's like 70 mm or something small.

No link for the Border. I bought it for like $200 off of yahoo auctions japan. It comes with an 80mm flange that attaches to the downpipe, but from there it goes 90mm into a sub-muffler, then the muffler, then exit to 100mm. It sounds great too!

But there have been plenty of guys making huge power with 80mm exhausts. I've had the apexi duals, JIC Bullet type 1, border burnout, HKS dragger, Blitz NurSpec, and the Greddy whatever it's called(I was trying to find the best sounding muffler). Out of them all, the JIC and the Border were the best sounding and loudest out of the bunch. The quietest was the Greddy, but the muffler had an internal diameter of 76mm then went back to 80mm. The HKS was 80mm all the way thru, but I didn't like the piping design(too many bends). The blitz and the Apexi duals sounded like freeze dried poop...very shitty.

I tested all the mufflers with a midpipe.

Get a small part of a 3" U bend and a flange that bolts to your downpipe and weld them together to form a turndown that aims the exhaust down and away from the underside a little. Aim it to the side to avoid poisoning yourself, oh and it's loud as hell btw : ).

I would say Apexi GT Spec or Greddy Titanium if you want to save weight.

zerobanger dont do it you wont wanna drive your car any more its just way too loud and not worth the noise level...its not a racecar

who wants a drag car sound when you run 12s?? NOT me
those borla xr1 mufflers are really suggested by pros such as myself
quiets things down a lot and makes the car sound awesome....the rotary sound is completely gone

I don't know why people think the GT-spec is so loud. I have used it on my car and it was not as loud as my Trust J-spec or my HKS hiper ti.

I agree. I have had mine 2 years with a midpipe. Never even gotten pulled over for it. It's not as bad as people make it out to be. Most who complain it's loud have never even heard it. It's all hearsay.

I would just do a custom 3" mandrel bent exhaust with aluminized steel with a 3"in 3"out magnaflow straight though muffler. Or 4" piping and muffler if you plan to go with a bigger turbo, and go with a racing series muffler if your serious.

the best exhaust for track.. Electric cutout put on your downpipe... cost 120bucks for a electric cutout and you for like 100 bucks you could have piping made to have it exit out the side of your fender by the door.. jgtc style

they're a little dirty in the picture since i didn't clean them at all, but they clean up real nice with a little soapy water. You only see the end of the tips (part that is shiny) anyways.
