Downpipe install from hell, plus boost qeuestions....
I finally got a DP installed, which was a bitch cause I broke a stud in my secondary turbo housing during the process, but I don't even want to go there.
I have a Home Depot boost controler in for now, with no pre control.
I'm seeing something like 11.5-9-9.5.
Here is the wierd thing though. When I had my engine replaced my mechanic put silicone hoses on to my waste gates with NO PILLS!
Shouldn't this means that I should have been getting low boost?
On top of that now with my Home Depot install I have it opened up ALL THE WAY to get my current boost readings, and if I close it at all I start spiking WAY up into the 13-15 range.
From what I understand I should be able to get 7 psi with just straight hose to my waste gates.
Anyway, I guess I will up on a precontrol valve and try to get it all evened out.
Now for my real question:
If I get a Power FC and use that to regulate my boost will that work properly? I have heard mixed results using the PFC to regulate boost. I seem to have abit of a sluggish response right now, my primary turbo seems weak and slow to build.
When you use the PFC to regulate boost do you just put straight lines on with no pills?

You'll have to be more specific about how you installed the Home Depot valve, but it sounds like you have it in the line from the turbo compressor outlet to the wastegate actuator inlet. I bet your new turbos have the orifices built into the nipples on the compressor housing, so adding more restriction with the valve sends the boost sky-high. You can remove the valve and get a PowerFC to control boost, or drill out the nipple and keep using your Home Depot valve if my understanding of your setup is correct.

I'm still on the origional stock turbos, I don't have new turbos. My car was built in 92 so I know it had pills.
Yes, I'm running a line with a valve in it from waste gate, not the precontrol.
I had to drill the stud out and put a helicoil in. Actually I broke it off in the primary housing though not the secondary, I made a mistake in the first post. I took the y-pipe off to get easier access to the exhaust studs, and when putting the y-pipe bck on I broke the stud.
