Downpipe and Center Section

I am looking into buying the Pettit downpipe and center section. I had a few questions that I was hoping someone has the answer to. Will it effect the car having almost no back pressure? How much will it increase horsepower? Do I have to upgrade the ECU? Please help me.......I need to know.

I think you would probably get about 40 horsepower doing this. This can be a risky upgrade though. With no back pressure you'll have the potential for boost creep which can be very bad. I wouldn't go with the midpipe before upgrading your ECU too or else you may run too lean. I would do a bit more research first if I were you. The wrong upgrades can be a very bad thing for the FD which is part of the reason people go through motors so often.

hey whats up

the first mod i did was petitt SS downpipe and i was running way rich on the a/f gauge. The only time i read lean was when i was coming off throttle (which is normal). Now when finally made the decision to upgrade my ecu with a piggyback (PFS purple box), i got a blitz catback and i was stilling running rich. Although i wasn't running as rich as w/out my catback, but i was still rich enough to drive without boost spike. Now i just got the PFS power management system and i am fine. I think if i was to get a midpipe without upgrading my computer i would probably have a problem. I think you should keep the restriction of the main cat on until u get some kind of computer upgrade. Now i am thinking of removing the cat and getting a MP or high flow cat (but still a afraid of boost spike). But one thing about the PFS is that it wont let me creep more than 10 psi on the low setting and about 13 psi on the medium setting.

I hope i was some help.
