I did that mod and also smothed out the back side of the throttle body at the same time. I did this mod by itself and could feel better mid range throttle response, approx. 3K rpm up.

This was many mods ago. At the time, go fast mods were: stock engine, DP, CB, M2 CAI, RP underdrive pulley, 17lb flywheel, Bonez street/comp clutch, M2 stage 2 ECU.

I think polishing the throttle is a waste, but boring it up a size will help. Also porting and polishing the inside of the Surgetank and intake manifold will help.

Thanks for your input.
I think I will pass on $150 for the UIM polished. I was just suggesting a way I would make a little extra money if I had one. I think the mod will make a little difference because the removing the butterflies does and it is above and beyond.

The double throttle control blocks the intake flow under boost conditions when the motor is cold.

So if you remove it & lend you car out. The **** could go to full boost with a stone cold motor. You no longer have protection against that.

I dunno why
but luckily I did not had to drill out the screws, just unscrewed them, it was pretty easy, got a big OR seal and a small plate to stop it, and that's all!

Did you mean "lend" as in let someone else drive it and they floor it before its fully warmed. Or "lean" and just had that as a typo? Can you re-explain please?

From what he wrote, it seems he's trying to explain if you bring it to a shop and they boost before it's warm or you let a buddy borrow it and he/ she boosts before it's warm it could do some baddd things.

Lend.........Let someone, other than yourself, drive your car.

Then, out of ignorance, they "feel" the massive surge of power 10 seconds after cold start. WeeeeeeeePOP........oh oh.
