Doors open a few seconds after lifting the handle...
Ok so i searched and couldn't find anything and i know this has to have happened to someone else. Anyways, when i lift my driver door handle from the outside there is a 2-3 second delay before my door opens. Can anyone please tell me what is the problem and how can i fix this? thanks

Never had that problem but I had this thread bookmarked about fixing them, maybe it will give you some ideas. I thought I had a thread bookmarked that talked about servicing them by lubricating them I'll see if I can find it untill then this might be a good read.

I apparently confused the door handle maintenance with a power window maintenance thread I had read. Here it is anyway, it has somethings that could easily be applied to the door handle.

Just remember if you clean the handle with something like WD40, you need to apply some kind of grease to make sure the parts slide correctly.
If something is broken you still can buy new handle assemblies from Mazda. Sake Bomb Garage has a group buy thread going I believe for an aluminium one an GoodfellaFD3S is putting a group buy together for OEM ones at a cheaper price than from Mazda.
Take it apart and see what is going on in there, see if you can understand how it works and what may be causing the problem. If nothing appears broken clean and lube it up and see what happens.

As stated, the handle and latch mechanism is mechanical - IE simple steel rods and linkages, nothing more than70's/80's tech.
Take the door handle off- 2 bolts on the back of it behind the plastic pillar cover, verify the linkage rods are connected, and if so, then pull the door trim off and investigate further.
