HI

Ive been trying to fix one of the many problems with my rx and the door handle has snapped off in my hands, is this hard to fix?

 

Uh....WHICH door handle? The 'always breaking' passenger interior one? An outside one?
Different fixes for each one........

 

It doesn't matter which handle. There isn't a good fix, and it breaks often.

For exterior door handles, it's very important to keep the handle mechanism well lubed. Too much friction leads to the breakage.

For interior door handles, it's a matter of not yanking hard on it.

I just broke the outside driver's side handle. It's a pain to change. Maybe I don't know how to do it. So, I've taken a break out of frustration.

 

They break because they bind and then people force them. If it becomes tight take it apart and lube the hinges and springs inside. I've never broken one. Its an easy change. I have a good extra passenger one if anyone needs it.

this is the most fragile car ive ever owned, it makes the old mini seem reliable, lol.

It is the outside driver door handle, it is no more, boo hoo, its not like i can drive the thing anyway, at least im saving 20 quid in petrol a day when im not using it, if i dont drive it for 6 months i should have saved enough money to fix everything.
