So I finally got the FD out of storage and replaced air filter and moved on to install my door handle (right side, JDM). No issue removing the old and replacing it with the new door handle. However, it opens and closes fine til I lock it then I can't open my door or unlock it. I have to pull it all apart to open the door again.

What's going on? Need some help, just spent last 3 hours with the same result.

 

Just keep at it. Hope you didn't take both off, check the other if you didn't for reference on how it goes back together.
Also, where did you get your door handle? And did you mean the outside or the inside?
I am guessing the inside now that I read it again.

 

I got the handle off another forum, no piston for $45. The rod to lock mech was bent, I have straighten it, but it still binding. so for time being I can't lock my doors, but at least I can get in the driver's side now.

 

My driver's side door handle is completely broken, so another member gave one I can replace it with, but I have no idea how to remove or reinstall.

Where can I find the instructions to do this?
