ok i have a car that i bought with an engine fire. im in the process of ripping everthing out, and rebuilding. i just noticed that the car doesnt have any vin stickers on the doors... can i get new ones from mazda (they scan the bar code on the stickers at the smog stations)? maybe they didnt even have these stickers on the 93's?? my dad has a 94 that im comparing it to, and his has stickers on the pass and drivers door

also, how do i know the car is legit? someone could just switch the dash right? thats all the vin is on (and its out of the car right now)

Actually I believe it might be on the firewall too. I could be wrong though as my car is in storage and it's been a while since I've looked the vin..

 

No you're right. It's printed on the firewall also.

 

There was a thread a while back asking the same question. I believe you can get replacement VIN sticker for the door from Mazda.

But yes, the VIN is also on the firewall.

i believe the vin is not only on the dash and firewall. there are other places car comanys hide the vin to help distinguish stolen vehicles
