done it right the first time?
I hear so many stories about people blowing two motors a year or 2 turbos or 3 trannies or something like that... i was just wondering.. if its even possible.. have any of you get a **** load of money.. built a solid engine and got it right the first time.. (and havent had problems since it was tuned.)

My mechanic does it the best he knows how , and must do it well or he would not have a list of people wanting work done. He stays behind , and as well as I can tell jobs are not returned for rework . His customers will return for other work and send their friends . The knowledge and skill has been learned after years of hands on work . Think ,ask questions work carefully . Read the factory books ,ect .

Anyways, there are MANY reputable rotary shops that build engines and do great work.
Most of the problems you see with people blowing engines so fast is that they don't fix what cause the first engine to blow. They just get a rebuild and slap the rest of the old crap back on and blow the next one.
The stock internals of the 13B can take a lot of horse power. However, due to the design of the rotary engine, it doesn't take detontation at all. There are people like ErnieT who have upgraded everything around a stock ported motor and ran some serious times on the drag strip:

If you have someone tune a modified FD who knows what they are doing, then all you have to worry about it paying them and maintaining the car. If you tune the car yourself, you run the risk of running it too lean and causing detonation. In that case, you'll be paying for a rebuild. You will pay either way with your FD if you plan to modify it heavily (paying to have it rebuilt or tuned properly).
You can have a very fast and fun car without trying to make it a dyno queen. Modify the car smartly, don't get greedy and it will be fine. However, as with any car, things just eventually wear out and you are interested in a car that's about 10 years old. There will be things to replace and fix, it's just parts aging.
As for the "Exhaust Leak". You won't be able to have a custom text until around 1000 posts (IIRC). It will change as your post count increases.
