Doing EGR mod -- electrical scares me

So I've read the whole write up by SpooleUP7, and I'm assuming it all makes sense, so before I set out on cutting wires, confirm that I got this right.

https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...chmentid=72865

So primarily, I'm cutting the blue connector off of the sensor from the EGR and connecting it to the relay. From the relay, I connect it to the Solenoid Harness (which is actually yellow, right?).

And thats all (aside from blocking off the vac lines that are associated)?

What do I do with the solenoid that is in the rats nest(the part that connects to the yellow connector)?

Finally, where is the best mounting place for the relay.

Ugh, I hate feeling like such a newb. Thanks guys

dude, purchase a power fc and rip the god-damn thing off the f***ing car. or if you want, yes, you are correct, cap the port in the upper intake manifold and remove the other vacuum lines. Yes, you can leave the line that comes through the lower intake manifold uncapped on both sides (i hate it when people cap them, what the h*** are they thinking?...the lines go through the manifold, they are not recieving any vacuum or pressure from the lower intake manifold!)

go with the power fc like extreme rotary said or get a federal ecu and ditch the california ecu. the federal ecu will not look for the egr sensor and you can keep the engine bay wiring stock with the egr in place. you can get a federal non california ecu cheep in the 4 sale section and its plug and play. 10 min install no wire cutting. the smog man will not know anything since the egr is retained and no check engine light problems.

I am pretty sure you can just run a block off plate and leave everything in place. I dont think there is any sort of feed back from the egr valve. It does not measure exhaust gas flow. Or i would just leave it alone. I have it in my car and i never messed with it. I think sometimes people get too into removing emissions. I use to think that but my current fd has an air pump and high flow cat. I just keep the stock cats for emissions testing. I even have the egr. But i recently switch to a pfc.

Unless your check engine light is on and its the main reason why you are bypassing the egr valve. That i can understand.

When I was pulling the motor, the sensor on the egr broke off. I figured I'd eliminate it as a problem all together (seeing that it was already clogged by carbon build up).

As far as the pfc goes, I'd love to, but I'm waiting to get my money back from a shady mechanic that said he could get one for me. The second I get my money back, believe me, Ramy will be hearing from me first thing.

As a fix for now, I am going through with this mod. I just want to make sure that this is, indeed correct. I hope to have my car running within the next week, and this is (hopefully) my only hindrance.

With that insight, is my first assumption true or not?

Thanks
