Doh! Battery reconnect = horn / alarm
Doh! Battery reconnect = horn / alarm
OK, so I just installed the interior half of the cruise control system, and I go to reconnect the battery. Damn if the horn didn't blow my ears out! It's a steady horn, not a beep beep like an alarm (but I've never heard an FD alarm so I dunno). I tried connecting it and turning the key in the door but no go.
What's the trick? Should I be pulling a fuse somewhere or resetting something? Couldn't find in the FSM or by searches.

TTurbo: what alarm button?
Somebody I work with suggested I check the horn leads to make sure nothing is grounded by accident. I'm almost sure that's the problem, so if that fixes it I'll post the results. Not that anyone seems to care, but it's one for the archives.

Fix Info...
The horn is circuited in a normally open configuration. That means if any part of the circuit is accidentally grounded, the circuit closes and runs the horn.
One of the two connectors behind the airbag wasn't properly seated in its spot on the plastic wheel backing plate and instead was touching the metal frame. Put back in place, no problems.
