Does this sound right? 420hp at 17psi on stock twin turbos? 320hp at 9psi on twins?

I put down 271rwhp at 10psi with all the bolt ons and a stock cat. This was at a 11:1 AFR. And an engine with low compression. So I'd say that 320bhp at 9psi is definetaly possible.

I've seen that "evil twin" car many times at the track, only in the "car show". Its a piece of ****. It has all of the old PFS stuff on it. The hp claims are flywheel hp, not to the wheels. Big difference.

The modifications began under the hood as Jack concentrated on upping the 13B powerplant's performance potential. Farrell installed a PFS intercooler and intake along with a stainless-steel 4-in. downpipe. The exhaust gases are exited via a 3-in. Random Technology cat into a GReddy stainless-steel exhaust system.
The stock twin turbos are controlled with a PFS custom programmed ECU that includes three-way boost control. Running 17psi of boost, Farrell estimates the 13b is generating around 420 hp. In the interest of longevity, Jack normally keeps the boost level down to around 9psi and estimates the output at 320 hp. As extra insurance against destructive detonation, a J&S knock sensor adds timing retard protection.

Ok, here is my first concern... where he mentions they added the J&S Knock sensor for timing retard.... Maybe its me but I think its a bad idea to even touch the timing in our cars. Alot of work went into getting the timing on our cars right and the slightest changes can mess them up really really baddly.

retarding it will allow you to loose power. it wont do anything *really really bad* as you say... i believe you are thinking of advancing it.
although now that i am thinking about it... i am not sure how the j&s works on both leading and trailing... could it cause the trailing to fire first? i believe i read they had a *new* model that was good for both, but older versions could only do one??? maybe i am completely wrong... LOL

Anytime they dont specify RWhp just assume its at the flywheel. Especially when your looking at mags or talking to V8 guys. For some reason V8 guys almost ALWAYS talk flywheel, I think it just makes them feel better or something.
Anyway, those numbers are about right for flywheel. It would come out to be around 272 and 357RWhp.

Running a J&S with a timing split of less then 10 is bad, I believe. From what I remember, The J&S only retards the leading 10 degrees, which would make the trailing fire first.

First of all it wasn't in the Inport Tuner, it was on the Turbo mag the guy also own some other cars like MR2 and Celica I think. PFS offer a ECU already tunned with3 different programs one of them claim 360 whp. Idon't knowif this is forthe twins tho.. And anyway 420 on stock fuel system

That 360rwhp is basically 420hp, and it was using the Pettit ECU (just search for RTS3GEN on the forum).
