Does Removing Emisions affect engine performance

Hi I did a search but didn't find the answer

If any of the engine codes given when you remove the emissions (all) affect engine performance lets say low boost, limp mode or something else?

Please let me know

depends if it is turbo or non turbo.

turbos can remove everything and not be negatively impacted.
non turbo requires some modifications to keep the auxiliary ports functioning and VDI on series 5 functional still.

most people who strip out a non turbo do it improperly and feel the gains from removing the catalytic converter and think life is good, except they left the bottom end response in the garbage can with the rat's nest.
