Does ProfecB limit boost or no ?

One question: can ProfecB limit boost to 10psi or not ?
Can it only raise boost ?

For example, I have efini-y pipe and cat removed. Can I limit the boost to 10psi (it spikes to 11-12psi) with it or not ?

Someone said I can only raise the boost with ProfecB and someone else said that you can set the boost to 7psi minimum with ProfecB. So what's the deal ?

Anyone who told you that you can't lower the boost below 10 psi is ignorant....

You can lower boost to as low as 7 psi with the Profec (which is when the actuator opens by itself, essentially). This is assuming you don't have a full open exhaust -- downpipe, midpipe, cat-back -- and intake. At some point, the wastegate will not flow enough air for you to lower your boost to those levels (boost creep).

But with your mods, you should easily be able to keep it to 10 with no spikes or creep.

Rynberg is correct. The Profec B is a boost CONTROLLER and not a limiter. Whoever is telling you otherwise either doesn't know enough about what he's talking about or he's having fun blowing smoke up your ****. I have personally seen the Profec B keep boost to around 7 or 8psi and the the car I saw had a few more mods than you do. That's personal experience and the knowledge of Rynberg who knows what he's talking about as well. I hope that helps.

with full exhaust and an intake.....and assuming the turbos are fresh...it wont stay under ten psi...it will creep ...the profecb is essentially going to be useless for u if all you want to do is lower ur boost....the only way u will be able to accomplish this with those mods is to port the wastegate....then the profec will allow you to tune under 10 psi....have u removed the restrictor pill in the wastegate line??...that might help....

You can answer your own question in 30min and a few cents.
Remove the little 4" line with the pill and replace it with a hose without a pill then drive the car. The boost you see with this config is the lowest you're gonna get. Also, what you'll see if you install a profec b and turn it off.

I have first hand experience with the Profec limiting boost to 7 psi. I don't have my Power FC yet and don't wanna run 10 psi on non-seq with the stock ecu so my profec setting is at it's lowest, and my gauge reads a solid 7 psi all the way to redline. Only exhaust mod I have is a dp.
