The Power FC does give you basic boost control. According to the manual, you can safely adjust boost from 0.5 to 1.2 kg/cm^2, or about 7 to 17 PSI.

I heard that you can install the Power FC in about 10 minutes, so is it safe to assume that the PFC controls boost without having to install a boost solenoid?

mine's in with no wires cut, its plug n' play. thats the beauty of it and one thing that makes it more desirable to less hardcore tuners over the haltech. the pfc uses the stock boost control system. which is why its good for the range given.

Yes the install is pretty easy. No additional boost solenoid.

is it really a plug-n-play? I've heard that you have to cut some wires or something. Is that true?
It's sort of plug-n-play. If you buy it from someplace like rx7store.net you will have to cut four wires that go into the ECU harness. You will also have to find a set of maps that are tuned for your mods. To avoid both of the above steps, buy your PFC from http://www.srmotorsports.com. You tell them your mods and they pre-tune it for you. Plug it in and drive. No wires to cut because they remove the pins for you.
