Does a MSD SCI work on Rotaries? It's not just a painted 6AL!

I figured I would post this where it gets a little more traffic.....I can't find anyone who knows the answer!

I went to go buy a MSD 6AL brand new for a really good price and it ended up being a SCI (Sport Compact Ignition). I bought it anyways since I thought it was basically the same thing except it works better for higher reving engines.

So now, I have read a thread where someone used it and it died. Someone else in the Rotary section thought maybe the SCI doesn't work with a Rotary application but wasn't sure. I have searched at least 6 threads where others were asking about the SCI but nobody could answer their question.

Does anyone know for sure if the SCI will work for a Rotary?

Have you tried contacting MSD? Tell them the leading plugs (which use a wasted spark configuration) fire twice per engine revolution, and the max RPM you plan to operate at.
