Does a hotwired stock fuel pump overrun the stock regulator?
My goal is roughly 338 RWHP. I'm thinking about hot wiring the stock fuel pump with 10 ga and a 30 amp relay actuated by the ECU. I will have a Power FC in the car and a wideband so I can take fuel back out if the hotwire richens up the idle.
The question I have is will a hotwired stock pump be able to overrun the stock fuel pressure regulator's return circuit? To put it another way will I see more than the normal 28-32 psi fuel pressure at idle?

I've yet (yet) to rewire an FD fuel pump, but I know rewiring an FC's fuel pump resulted in pretty much no change to running condition - good idle, cruise, fuel economy, etc. Just gave you extra voltage and fuel flow when you needed it, and you didn't get a big voltage drop when you had accessories on (headlights, AC, stereo, etc.). I measured as low as 10-11 volts at full throttle on my old FC with a very healthy charging system.
Good thing is you know it won't make you run leaner, so it's safe to try .

The answer to your question is no. However, the nippondenso pumps don't last long running constant 13V based on my experience and posts on the Supra forum.
You're better off running heavy guage wiring from the fuel pump resistor to the pump so when it switches to high voltage there is not so much voltage drop. I switched to an Apexi BNR32 pump recently after my RP pump failed and plan to rewire this way to quiet that thing down and reduce wear.
