It's a positive (+) for sure, are you able to cover them with the lids on? Like anything how safe is it...take a pic of the underside of the one near the strut tower...looks fine though

That wire is not factory but it is wired correctly.

Here is the cable in question. It runs from the aft box attached at the top to the front one attached at the side, see red arrow, second picture.
