Does anyone know the size of the stock twins?

I have a friend who wants to put the stock 3rd gen twins in his car, but he needs to know the size of the turbos. If anyone knows then post them or email me @ FD3SBoost@hotmail.com

Thanks

If memory serves me correctly, they're Hitachi 51/57s ... or as jspecracer7 even better described them, "small."

I would strongly advise not trying to fashion the stock twins onto any other motor. It's dumb, it's not smart, and it's also dumb.

the fd's use 2 hitachi ht-12's
the fc's use one ht-18
and the 20b uses one ht-15 and one ht-10 or 12.
for a z28 you would want something bigger

The stock turbochargers are both 51 millimeters in diameter.

Well if he's thinking about putting them on a V-config motor, he definitely has much better alternatives than putting the pair on one side of a V. The FD twins are like conjoined twins ... they will separate, but they would take a good bit of extra work and fab to make them work separately. He would be much better advised just to buy a set of separate turbos ... if he wants something already used then the Z32 turbos would be OK and a good used pair runs about the same price as ours. Several companies make TT kits for the Z28, though.

JONSKI that's the compressor size ... turbines are 57.

oh yeah and it is a waste of time and to be honest it would take alot of time and alot of brains. Something most V-8 guys or as I like to think them as "necks" dont have. Not flaming here but I always get people around here
"Wanting to put turbos on there V-8s"
isn't the whole idea of a v8 to get rid of the turbos?

Oh no!! To the Boostcave! lol, donkey.

There isn't much point in using the 7s turbos because the way they are setup for our motor. It would take extra money to fab something up just to fit on the car. For that money you might as well just go out and get a turbo kit for the car or something.
