I am wondering if anyone knows how much a stock cat will run me ball park figure. I cant go with a high flow cat cause of boost creep and would rather go with the stock main cat.

$1300 at my dealer. I bought one from someone on the forum for under 200 with 30k miles. (though shipping is a ton, it's so heavy)

Since we're talking about stock cats, I need the oxygen tube that runs from the cat and connects to the tube leading to the airpump. I bought an N-Tech hi-flow, and it doesn't come with the tube, so I have to cut one off a stock cat (I was told I need the one-way valve as well) and weld it onto the N-Tech unit. Anybody have a stock cat--well, actually, the oxygen tube leading from the stock cat-- that they want to sell?

is there something that we could use to keep our cats from getting clogged up?

The air pump does that. Over time, the cat on any car will clog up, as the materials in the cat break down. It just happens on FD's faster than most cars because our cars run richer, dirtier, and with higher exhaust temps. Just get an N-tech cat and weld up the air pump pipe from your stock cat. Or you can buy a Bonez or rx7fashion hi-flow cat that already has the tube attached.

I asked Mazda Motorsports this question recently and the answer was like $1200 (that's with the competition discount). Better yet, there was not a single one in the country at the time.

KENTO , Garfinkle may have the tube and valve you need .Call 615 893 4469. He has two cats in storage. One is used for customers to pass the dreaded test.

Thumbs up

Right on, thanx, duboisr! I'll give him a call. I'm not sure I trust a hi-flow to pass smog here in CA, so I don't want to hack up my stocker, just in case.

If you're willing to sell me just the air tube with the one-way valve, then I'm interested. Shipping the cat itself would be a fortune due to its heft.
