Cool

I have a 93 Vintage Red R1 and my hoses were red at one time now they are pink (faded red).
I will be doing purple soon though and make my fashion statement as well.

Yea, and when they turn pink, everyone calls you a girl at the track.

Just kidding, but yes, make your mark, silver is cool. That color would be hard to keep clean I guess. What about orange? That would look just spectacular against the montego blue. I thought about it since I too have the montego. I couldn't resist the purp though.

Man we sound like a bunch of women. But like I said who gives a flying chipmunk. It’s your car, so put a little thought into detail.

Next time I'm at the strip I think I'll look at someone’s hoses and say, "oh my god look at that color, it’s so out there it so clashes with the color of your car." Then go up to one of my buddies and say. "I can not believe he would use that combination, can you believe that someone would have that color of air hose with that body color." I'm sure the rednecks would love that one.

Well, maybe I took it a little too far. Anyways, props to radical for supporting the purple invasion. It's the next big thing. You thought getting your manifold polished was cool. You ain't seen nothin' yet.

Orange would for sure get out and smack a guy in the face! Silver would be a little harder to keep clean.... right about that. I think matching the couplers and the SVH is cool. Thanks for the all of the opinions guys.... it doesn't look like it but your comments have helped me out. Now, to go red or silver...........

Yep, you're right. We're like a bunch of beyatches trying to decide on our nail polish color for the big party on Saturday night

Yeah, I know. That's why I was saying with the car being lowered, my wheels that you might buy, etc, etc, it's definitely not a sleeper so why go black?

As for silver, to me it's kind of like a "blank" color- like they forgot to add the color when they made it, know what I mean?

Ahhh, I say go red, including the couplers.

Put a chunk of red in the engine bay. It was red coating that is on one of my t-handle wrenches for my dirt bike. It looks very good laying there in front of and beside my polished intake. Red is the one.... SVH ...not nail polish! LOL Then yes, your wheels........

Radical Rotary Avantgard, how long have you had your red lines? Did they go pink fairly quick? I like the red but I dont it to end up pink.............

Not trying to discredit anyone, but I find it hard to believe they turn pink. I think they might lose their brightness as they age, but not drastically change colors.

Personally, I would not worry about that issue. Even if they were to turn pink, that would be years from now and you would have enough left over from this time to do (the ones that show) over again.

Oh yeah.... where are the pics of your polishing job? You should post some pics now and them more after the hose job so that we can see the "before and after".

Oh yeah x2... are you doing the hose job yourself? If so, I can email you several good jpegs and some website links that show the vacuum hose diagram. I printed out one of them on a color laser printer and it 3 pages wide and 2 pages tall (I taped all 6 pages together to make on big map). It really made the job a lot easier. But then again, I was starting from scratch, while you can just do one hose at a time.

I went with the anti-fashion color. The color no one here has mentioned yet. Milky clear. You can get them from mcmaster.
There is one practical upside to clear: If you are worried about oil causing your silicone hoses to break down, you can see the the oil (or dirt) in the line without having to remove it.

Well maybe I exagerated a little bit, they are not Pink but the Red has faded somewhat in about 5 years.
Purple hoses is still the word on the street for 2003.

Phew.... had me worried. I dont want pink. I kinda thought that heat shouldn't do it to badly. Sunlight fades stuff faster.

Your right Tom, where are my pics of my intake.... guess I should post some huh? I will post some and do before and after shots.... good idea bud.

I am doing the hose job myself. I am mechanially inclined enough I should be a snap. I will be patient, for this car is my pride and joy. I will take any help I can get of course, so send the pics! I think I have a few of the vac diagrams I think you are talking about but I pick through them. Thanks for the help guys!

Cool

It might sound stupid but believe me, DO ONE AT A TIME.
My friend started pulling hoses just because he thought it was easier to get them out of the way plus he had the diagram. Well he is very mechanicaly incline and missed only one hose and the car did not boost at all.
So learn from other peoples mistakes. Having small hands help too.
Good luck!!
Are you sure you don't want to try PURPLE?????

dam.... got big hands. oh well. Your exactly right Radical Rotary Avantgard, I am going to do 1 at a time for that reason. I don't want any screw ups at all. I pretty sure I dont want purple, unless you had a pic of a car with it, it might change my mind. For now it is going red!

If you want to go for the dressed up look I think that white would be the cleanest and most aesthetic looking.

lots of blues and purps goin on. White would need serious constant care... anyone have pics of this done, in red, blue or purple? Black is plain. I agree crazysuprakid , all blue hoses and pipe couplings with the polished pipes wouild look sweet, but wouldn't red look sweet too? Thats my greif!

I just got mine done when I did the rebuild and I chose blue. But then again my car is black so blue was the perfect choice because it does blend in when needed but you still notice it in a suttle way. That is the beauty of the fd. In my opinion and thats all it is, is my opinion, but I would go with a subtle look because you dont want to be ricey like a honda and choose somthing that stands out like a yellow or something. The car is so elegant and beautiful that I would just make it look as clean as possible. Polish everything up and become a street terror that you already are and then pop your hood and boom clean clean clean and everyone will be in awe. But this is just my opinion and you do what you like because hey its your car. Good luck to you if your doing it yourself I payed to get it done and Im glad i did because I hear its a butt to do. Good luck.

Your right Sparkey, thats the look I am after. I think I said this in the beginning that I would rather have clean than in your face. I kinda think that blue with the polished pipes and UIM/TB might look the best. Now one of my friends I was talking to today thinks purple might be sweet. Do they even make purple pipe couplers?
