do rx-7s have problems

I've had my Rx-7 for three years. I bought the car without checking carfax or even really looking at it that carefully. I probably paid two grand too much. It was only worth about ten. But I have had pretty good luck with this car. I think because it had 105,000 miles on it, alot of stuff got replaced already maybe. I have replaced so far the radiators, which I should have used aftermarket instead of stock because stock are too small. I have not replaced the turbos or engine yet but I think pretty soon. My exhaust is gone this year so thats not too bad. I had a couple of vacuum hoses pop off. One word of advice, if you can try to avoid the dealers. They can really slam you. I had to bring my car in a few times for things and the bills were staggering. I think when they see an Rx coming they start drooling. Because they know they can pull one on us because most people will never know how some of the of the systems work on these cars. Since I've joined this forum I actually am going to baby my car even more. I tend to beat on my cars alittle. The other thing you have to realize is there are few mechanics out there that really know how to work on one of these so before you buy one find out if there any good mechanics in your area.

Damn I was trying to reply to that newbies question and I guess it was closed off so I guess makes me not much of a veteran either. Anyways just wanted to say one more thing about the Rx-7s, the technology of the rotarys was probably never perfected and that is why there are problems with emissions and driveablity and the mileage of a suv. Felix Wankel unfortunately is probably like the Sony Betamax of Automotive engineers. If the Wankel was invented first, I think all the cars right now would be Wankel driven. On paper it is so much more logical. If only all the other carmakers could have kept on working on it. But thanks to Mazda we are lucky to be the few the proud to keep the dream alive.

Now I know why people space everything out so much. That hurt my head both times!
