Do i need a new gasket? its metal, but was wet when i removed it

Well i thought i'd post an actual end to this thread because i hate when i go to a thread and never find out what happened.
So I finally fixed the idle. I had tightened the accelerator cable too tight, once i loosened it, the idle sat perfectly around 800, usually 850. I've since driven it to detroit cause i'm spending the summer here, and have put 1100 miles on it in the past 2 weeks, and its running beautifully, except its almost time for another oil change haha!
