Do I have to use the Mazda Fuel Filter?

Do I have to use the mazda fuel filter or can I use a different brand that cost less? Is the mazda filter the best or is there a better one?

I did mine recently (hopefully Jim won't read this post) and I went with the one from Rotary Performance because it was so much cheaper. It sure looked the same as the old one...car drove the same too. :)

Hope this info helps...

I have always went with stock fuel filters because think of how many people never change them and thier cars are still running. If you buy a cheaper one you take the chance of it possibly failing or not flowing enough. Mazda specificly designed it for this car so thats why I use the stock one. RP does have a stock replacement that is cheaper. www.rx7.com

Go with the stock filter...its waaaayyy to important piece of equipment to save a few buck on. It's not like you buy one every 6 mos.

Go with mazda...OEM

Purolator all the way

I use the Purolator fuel filter and oil filter, they are both cheaper and available at Discount Auto parts...fuel ran $22 and top of the line oil filter was $6.00 Purolator rated as best in comparison test. Will see if I can find the part numbers for you.

I use a K&N fuel filter. Flows like 10X's better and is about 1/10 of the size. I think it was like $50
