DIY porting... (is there a guide?)
DIY porting... (is there a guide?)
I've been looking for a guide to porting. Ie, what tools needed, how to do it etc.
I know you can buy templates, but can't seem to find any DIY guides.
I'm looking for whatever I can get away with with stock turbos. Aggressive street port?
thanks in advance.

A conservative/mild streetport would be nice. You'll have little to no overlap and the engine will last. Porting requires a steady hand, patience, and experience. If you have access to some damaged housings and irons port them before you do your good set.
Here's a thread with some useful information and examples.

hmmm im not interested on how so much as the compressor size, diegrinder, and bits people like the most and which bits they use for each part such as housings vs. sideplates as the plates are a bit harder than the aluminum in the housings.
