Disconnect AWS...?
Hey guys gotta question. Its been overly stated that to start up 7 without putting her in gear is bad, because of the 3k cat warmup. Well I was going to add a remote starter to my FD, and well it would totally defeat the purpose of the remote start if I had to go to the car and put her in gear before starting to bypass 3k warmup. Question is can I just disconnect the wire harness from the AWS? I did try to just remove the .75" hose that runs from the plastic intake pipe to the AWS and plugged the holes, and she started and ran fine when warm. But when she was cold she would start up and just die, I tryed restarting a couple more times but she did the same thing. So If I just disconncted the electrical harness to AWS it should bypass the AWS...correct? But will I get a check engine light, or will she just die out again? I would just try it myself and find out, but if I get a check engine light and have to reset it'll suck. My stereo is a bitch to reprogram.
Well thanx for any input..... Tony
