Directing cold air to dual cones?

Believe me, I spent til 3am last night searching this, so no flames...........all I could find were numerous debates on cold air versus warm "engine bay air"...........I'm def a fan of getting as much "nose" cold air over to the filters, so that's my quest.............

I'm about to install my dual cones intake, and am also in the process of constructing Damians heat shield per his awesome template.............

What are you guys doing to direct the cold air over to the cones from the nose of the car?..........

I've got the RB cheap POS plastic thingie directing it to the stock airbox, and I was sort of thinking that after the cones take the stock airboxes place, maybe I should leave the rest of the ducting in place including the RB piece to direct air over there...............

Is there a better way you guys are doing it?

Thanks a ton..............

David

Go buy 3" flexible ducting from Kragen and run it from the nose of the car up, between the radiator and the frame on the passenger side, to the cones. That's waht I did. I used zip ties to secure it. You can run the hose from passenger oil cooler opening, if you don't have an R1, or from the center opening to the radiator. I'l try to take some pics later fro you.

Look up Damian's ducting too. It's probably in the same threads as his heat shields. Works well for me. After driving around for awhile, the area around my air ducting is ice cold.

Also you could get a vented headlight cover. That might help a bit as well (when retracted of course).
