Question Differences in Seats?

Is there a difference in the driver's seat and the passengers'?

Seems like the driver's seats are always pretty well worn, but I've seen some passenger ones that look in good shape. So, can you use a passenger seat to replace a driver's seat?

thanks

As far as I know, the only issues is the seat belt band on the side of the seat. It cannot be simply moved over to the other side.

There is a good chance that the covers and mabe the foam could be swaped on the frames.

Has anyone ever successfully re-done a stock leather seat? Having the side bolster wear out seems to be pretty common.

I've interchanged seat bottoms a few times with success. Backs seem a bit different, but once laid out look exactly alike. Maybe Bill@Leatherseats can chime in on how he makes them.

I just finished recovering a Turbo II seat, 1 of 3 in Ultra suede. I have noticed the differences on the 2nd gen seats, but I have not recovered any FD seats. The rx8 seats are totaly different but simpiler once you get past the air bag. I have noticed that the side bolster foam first splits, than it start to just fall apart. If you catch it in the early stages it is most easily fixed with out having to replace much foam.

My R1 suede seats are pretty much worn out.... the seats are fine, but the suede/cover is ****. Where can I get the material or whatever to rewrap it?
