diff. mounts replacement....help!
I trying to find someone to do it for me but no luck so far. My rear is clunking a lot and i'm sick of it!
How much do i have to remove the diff? do the axles have to come off? If so, what size socket do i need?
I dont want to do it on my back in the driveway but it looks like thats whats gonna happen...unless, how much can I expect to pay for this job?
TIA
Manny

its very easy. Yes axels have to come out. If you want just take it to KDR and they will do everythine for 300$ including fluids.
EDIT: sorry just read you wanted to replace mounts. Thought you wanted to do a new diff. yes axels have to come out i belive it is a 14mm. and you will need 2.

axles do not have to come out... its a 2-3 hour job. any mazda dealer can do this.
btw if u are at park and change gears, do you get clunck? this is the pillow *****. of course your diff mounts are most likely bad also.

Axles don't need to come out.
I cover it briefly in my transmission job (www.davidgeesaman.com under the Inspection and Miscellaneous document), but I strongly recommend digging up the instructions from Jimlab and Damian. That's what I followed.
