Did the stock front bumper change between years or R1 v Touring v Base?

I'm trying to figure out how KD fit their dual rads with the stock bumper. They have about 11in of space between the "shelf" below the headlights and the bottom of the bumper on their 1993 R1. I have a 1994 touring/pep/whatever and I have 9 inches in the same area. So did they change? I believe my car had some front end damage repaired by a previous owner so maybe thats it too. thanks

random note...the sway bar is about 4in off the ground but the bottom or the bumper is about 8 inches. The car has been jacked up and not moved so i don't know if that would affect it.

93-98 bumpers are the same from my understanding.

I'm not familiar with what you are referring too...KD dual rad.

Thats what I thought dubulup. I'm going to run up to KD and take some measurements soon hopefully.

rallimike on the forum thought this up and with some install help from KD got it going on his car and he's been loving the results.

Custom griffin rads sized 16Wx11Hx1.5T are placed in the oil cooler location. The AC components are laid flat close to the undertray, the SMIC moved forward a bit and oil coolers are mounted kind of like how the IC is in a V-mount. No pics of the finished product right now but rallimike has run it for over a year with no probs and great results.

The custom rads ran $400 each so I'm trying to swap a rad from a yamaha R6 bike which I can get for $150 each. However, the core is only 1in thick. And right now it doesn't fit top to bottom, ok widthwise though.

here's a pic of my problem

I figure'd you were referring to something like that, but didn't know anyone actually fabbed such a thing.

Does he use fans on his radiators? I take it these are in series?

can you draw a picture of the oil coolers in a v-mount with a SMIC?

I wonder how much can be gained by swapping the radiator(s) to the sides and a bigger single oil cooler up front? I can see how SMIC AIT's would drop...no hot fan exhaust blowing on it.

Yes they are in series, rallimike used SS hose all around. Yes to fans as well, not sure how they're wired up. I do know they cut slots in the fenderwell behind it to draw air through. I'll see if i can mock up a pic with something, maybe hold the rad I have in place where i'm told the oil coolers go.

I ran some rough numbers. Didn't know the HxW of the stock rad so just used the same as my koyo. Numbers seem to work before you even consider that the rads have no AC condenser in front and they are upright, not at an angle.
Dimensions
Stock: 24 x 14 x 1
Koyo radiator: 24 x 14 x 2
Griffin: 16 x 11 x 1.5

Surface area:
Stock: <336
Koyo: 336
2xGriffin: 352

Rough volumes:
Stock: <336
Koyo: 672
2xGriffin: 528
