Did the PO destroy my TB?

Previous owner had the grand idea to spray paint the throttle body, UIM and other parts without masking and it looks really bad. I'm looking to go for a stock looking manifold and tb, is there a good way of getting the spray paint off everything, or just buy a known good TB and install that?

Hey, not sure what advice to give regarding cleaning the paint off the throttle body or UIM. I think you can buy solvents that you brush on that should take the paint off. Not sure what that will do to the metal underneath though. The other option is to get them re painted or polished.

However if you are set on the stock look send me a PM, I have both the TB and UIM and can ship them out to you pretty quick.

You can probably just hit the TB with aircraft stripper and let it bubble the paint off. Spray on, let it bubble up, agitate with brush, hose off with water. As long as you don't let it sit on there for a crazy long time you'll be good.

I would probably remove the TPS from the TB first so it doesn't get junk in it, same goes for the UIM, remove any sensors and whatnot (ISC, IAT, etc.).

I would try and do everything without removing or disassembling the linkages on the TB, it can be tricky to get it together right. Did that this weekend as a matter of fact.

Worst case a good used TB probably isn't that much money.
