Hello Everyone

So as the thread indicates, ive been doing a lot of searching lately to see what can be causing these symptoms on my 7, but with so many slightly different problems that arrise, im dazed and confused...

Here is what happened:

I was driving my car normally like every day, gave it a couple nice runs like usual, then all of a sudden im getting low steady vacuum (11-12in vs 15-16in) at idle and it seems the car wants to turn off. The car still boosted up normally though.

Now when i go to turn the car on, as im turning it, i have to give it a little gas with the pedal so it can turn over and actually start, opposed to having a nice smooth start before. And when i slightly raise the throttle, it seems to hesitate and is not smooth anymore.

After some driving, there is also a fuel smell comming in from what seems to be the passengers side, hinting that it is something having to do with the fuel system...

What ive tried:

- I have changed the plugs/wires
- Replaced fuel filter
- Thought it might have been the lower intake manifold gasket so replaced that (hard one)
- Checked all vacuum hoses (Non-Seq makes it easy

I just got a brand new fuel system (fpr, fuel rail, 1600 secondaries) installed by a rotary shop not more than 6 months ago, so im hessitant to say its the injectors being the problem.

Is there anything else i could check or has anyone faced a similar problem?

I am running a microtech ecu and all other bolt on's, so any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks so much

Did you check the boost sensor? Maybe the hose popped off.

Other than that, a compression check would clear the painful thoughts out.

dude get your car checked by professional.. as small things in a rotary get big after a while.........

Dude, my car was done by a professional...
A-spec here in IL did mostly all my work and after taking it with them said to change the plugs/wires, fuel filter, and see where it went with that.

Im just hesitant to go with them again because they are always so busy and if there is something i can do to adjust it myself, the gratification would be that much greater.

Guys at a-spec also said it most likely isnt the motor going due to the fact that the torque is still there and the idle is not jumping up and down, nor weird smoke comming out of it. Great guys, but just like i said, very busy...

Any other suggestions?

They can tell you anything they want.

You will know fore SURE it isnt the engine if you do a compression check. That will rule out that factor.

What about if you replace everything related to that problem and its still there, then finally do a compression check and find out the rear rotor is gone, you just wasted all that time and money.

No harm in just doing that now just so you dont have to think about that being the problem.

Thats just what i would do.

A fuel smell should not be happening no matter what.

The only places you should ever smell fuel is at the gas filler and the exhaust from running a little rich.

Something is loose, leaking, not seated right. You said you replaced the fuel regulator, what about the Pulsation Dampener?

I do a compression test once a year, good piece of mind.
