Did I setup this hks intake correct? Plus other questions(pics)

Ok heres the deal, picked up this hks intake off someone from the forum, because the piece for the airpump off my oem intake broke off. So I figured I might as well upgraded anyways. The pics below all have explanations and what I hooked up to what. Now I know you need to hook up the crv plus the airpump, and the other one your supposed to put a filter on it. I put the filter on it and it sounded like it was farting really loud, so I connected it and the sound is barely noticeable. Here are the pics. Im still putting in the rotary run headlights, thats why the engine is all dirty, I had them up temproarily and now im doing final fitment and aligning all the lights.

^ ok thats how I connected everything, hopefully I did it right, the tape holding the nozels in is to ensure that the nozels seal properly with the sealent I used.

^Ok their was a piece attached on top of this, but now with the intake their the piece no longer fits, not even close. The pic below is of this piece. So I wanted to remove the piece that is circle in white.

^ The piece that I removed and doesnt fit with the intake in place.

^Progress pics on my rotary run headlights, keeping everything aligned.

Ok now that the intake is installed I am getting ALOT of backfire, even a little bit of throttle and let off im getting backfire. Before the intake I would have to give it alot of throttle to get a little bit of backfire. My mods are hks intake, rx7store.net downpipe, and apexi gt spec exhaust. Also have a problem with the car stalling when coming to a stop with the a/c on, its ok in the beggining but after 5 mintues and everything is warmed up thats when it starts to bog down? Not really sure on that one its happened ever since I bought the car. Any help is greatly greatly appreciated.

You don't want to remove the intercooler duct, but you should cover up the hole on it with some sheet aluminum or something. You can toss the piece that sits on top of it.

Everything looks to be correct, so I don't know why it is backfiring more. In fact, when I installed my intake I noticed less backfiring.

Keep the IC ducting because it directs air through it from the mouth. Do like 27 said and seal the top holes so the air is forced through the fins.

Backfiring: Check O2 sensor connections and Map sensor connections.

Stalling: Could be failing grounds or idle speed set too low.

Above is my old setup from a few years back. There really isn't a right or wrong, just how you want it setup.
