make sure the clutch is releasing all the way when you're pressing the clutch pedal down, if it isn't it will tend to make the synchros catch. Try bleeding the clutch hydraulics first or make sure the slave cylinder piston is extending fully. Good luck!

^^I agree. Check the clutch pedal free play, and make sure everything is adjusted correctly.

Not as likely....but if everything else checks out OK, pull the inspection covers and look over your clutch fork for signs of bending or braking.

Did you grease the splines? disc dragging? try to speed shift (shifting w/out clutch), if it shifts smoothy between transition then the synchros are fine and there is a clearance/dragging issue.

I did not bleed the clutch hydraulics as I thought since I never opened the line it would be ok but I am going to try that next. I also wonder what are the chances of the clutch cylinder piston not sitting perfectly in the little groove?? I think the clutch is releasing all the way as I do not have grind in the shift to 5th but all the others? I did have the tranny rebuilt a few years (4-5) ago by Pettit with the updated 5th gear.

I am not sure what a Spec stage III+ disc is like, but if the disc is really heavy, you are going to have slower shifting/grinding, but other than that I would say it is probably just an adjustment issue.

I could be wrong but I was told its a carbon-semi metalic disk. It is full faced. The difference between the stage 3 and stage 3+ is one is a 6 puck and the other (mine) is full faced. I hope to bleed it tonight then I will now.
